Towards High-fidelity Human Motion Generation
报告摘要
Generating virtual humans that can move and behave like us has tremendous applications in various domains, such as health care, gaming, sports, etc. In this talk, I will present two projects of our lab aiming at generating high-fidelity human motion using diffusion models. In this first part, I will present an ICLR 24 paper (https://arxiv.org/abs/2310.08580) that supports controllable human motion generation. Unlike existing work that can only support dense control signals on the pelvis only, our approach can control any human joint at any time step. In the second one, I will present a method that can translate a textual prompt into a sequence of 3D human-object interactions (HOIs) (https://arxiv.org/abs/2312.06553). Among other concurrent works, our approach is the first one that can do so. Our key insight is to estimate the affordance of the object for interactions and use it to guide the HOIs generation.
报告人简历
Huaizu Jiang is an Assistant Professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. Prior to that, he was a Postdoc at Caltech and Visiting Researcher at NVIDIA. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He got his bachelor and master’s degrees both from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He has broad research interests in computer vision, computational photography, natural language processing, and machine learning. His long-term research aims to teach machines to develop visual intelligence in a manner analogous to humans by combining 3D and multi-modal cues. In the short term, his research goal is to create smart visual perception tools to improve people’s life experiences of using cameras. He received Adobe Fellowship and NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship both in 2019. His research has been supported by NSF, MathWorks, Adobe, and Google. His homepage is https://jianghz.me.

张世周,西北工业大学计算机学院博士生导师,长聘副教授,入选陕西省科技新星、西北工业大学“翱翔新星”人才支持计划。分别于2010年和2017年在西安交通大学获得学士和博士学位。研究兴趣包括计算机视觉和图像处理,近年来致力于研发自主进化学习方法并应用于无人机视觉任务和空地协同视觉感知任务,以提高无人机视觉感知能力。相关研究在国际顶级期刊IEEE TIP、TMM、TCSVT、 Pattern Recognition以及顶级会议ICCV、IJCAI、ACM MM等发表论文四十余篇。研究工作受到世界著名科研机构研究人员包括ACM Fellow、IEEE Fellow、院士等团队的积极引用。主持某工程重点项目,国家自然基金项目,陕西省自然科学发展基金以及作为技术骨干参与国家自然基金重点项目,国家重点研发计划等项目。项目研发成果已成功应用于多型号系列无人机系统。
